Welcome to Troop 45's Web Page

Scouting is about the great outdoors, Natures playground. We camp once a month, learn cooking techniques, proper shelter, first aid, safety and survival in the outdoors, and most of all teamwork and lots of fun.We serve our community with community service project as the Scouts learn to give back and take pride in their community.

Our Troop is boy led, the boys elect officers among their fellow scouts, plan and run the meetings teaching the boys to become leaders. The boys plan fundraisers to purchase troop supplies and attend both District and Council events.

As a Scout Master I have the most rewarding job, watching these boys excel and become leaders in our community. With the Assistant Scout Masters we guide the boys safely and give them the tools to succeed.

Scouting is based on rank advancements from Scout to Eagle Scout, and Merit earning which teaching the boys skills that last a life time. The highest rank achievable is the Eagle Rank in the Boy Scouting program, when the boy reaches this Rank of Honor many doors will open for his future.

Boys may join scouts at the age of 11 up to their 18th birthday. If you need a youth application please click on the link below and print out, or contact the Scout Master for an application.

Our Troop Meetings are every other Thursday at the First United Methodist Church, Savanna,IL. Meetings are held from 5:30pm to 7pm. We welcome parent to get involved by joining the Troop committee, a group of adults responsible for supplying the tools and means to help the Troop be successful.

Please feel free to contact the Scout Master if you have any other questions about the Scouting program or our Troop.
